Making Use of Cheap/Used Barcode Scanners
I was at this department store a few hours ago and saw how much it could help them if they would’ve had even an used barcode scanner. It’s amazing and very pathetic really, considering how everything is so “techie” nowadays, yet they did not have a barcode scanner at that time.
It was a bit annoying because customers were spending too much time falling in line and waiting for their turns over the counters. It was more annoying to see the cashiers pressing the barcode numbers manually. They took up so much time, and I suppose it took a lot of effort on their part as well. I couldn’t help, but think that they must have had very insensitive managers. I see a lot of cheap barcode scanners in the mall, and even cheaper used barcode scanners online. Considering all these, I couldn’t understand what was up with all the stupidity.
Anyway, here I am ranting about something that supposedly doesn’t concern me. But then again it does matter because they are the nearest grocery store around. Maybe I should make it an assignment to voice out my opinion next time. Who knows? Someone might actually hear me. In fact, I believe when they say that changes actually start from awareness.
